Independence Mission Schools is seeking candidates for a Full-Time Human Resources Assistant. 

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist HR team on projects as needed 
  • Perform I-9 maintenance and audits
  • Maintain secure and confidential human resource related files and records
  • Prepare reports and internal communications
  • Plan and execute employee-related events as needed
  • Support the management and implementation of the HRIS
  • Assist with New Hire Orientation 
  • Monitor general HR email and phone mail boxes
  • Assist with maintain employee credentials 
  • Maintain internal tracking sheets
  • Complete employment verifications 
  • Assist with PGC and other compliance related trainings
  • General clerical duties
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Hours: Full-Time (9-5)

 

Qualifications: 

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
  • Working knowledge and skill of basic business software
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to streamline communication of business processes and procedures to maximize efficiency and effectiveness within the schools
  • Proven track record of meeting deadlines, accomplishing work in order of priority, and maintaining composure and effectiveness under pressure and changing priorities.  

Education and/or Experience:

  • Associate’s Degree required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Human Resources or related field preferred
  • Minimum 1-2 years HR experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels in the organization
  • Working knowledge of human resource principles, procedures and practices
  • Ability to effectively deal with multiple priorities, functions and activities
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, including the abilities to energize others, be diplomatic and maintain confidentiality

Physical Demands 

  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as  computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, fax machines. 
  • This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open  cabinets, unload supplies and bend or stand as necessary. 

  

Successful candidates must be able to clear all required background checks.
