Our Mother of Sorrows (19104) & The DePaul Catholic School (19144), Independence Mission Schools, are seeking a Music Teacher. If seeking a full-time role, the candidate will teach at both school locations. There is also the option for a part-time position teaching at only one of the school locations. 

 

The Music teacher should have a strong understanding of evidence-based age-appropriate curriculum and instructional strategies, enthusiasm for innovative practices, willingness to participate as an active member of a multi-disciplinary team, and possess the ability to adapt activities in order to incorporate the diverse strengths of students. The full-time position starts at $37,822. The part-time position would be divided by the number of days worked. 

 

The successful candidate should:

• Demonstrate collegiality to integrate cross-curricular instruction and real-world problem solving skills
• Skilled in their subject areas and be enthusiastic learners who apply skills learned through frequent subject and grade level teamwork and professional development
• Model outstanding character traits according to the ethics, values, and philosophy of the Catholic teachings, and exhibit these traits through a positive classroom atmosphere
• Lend their skills and interests to coaching and moderating of extra-curricular activities
• Offer excellent communication and presentation skills as well as solid planning and organizational skills

• Experience teaching diverse learners and differentiating instruction (preferred)
• A track record of leading students to successfully achieve those expectations (preferred)
• Experience working with children and communities in an urban setting (preferred)

Certification, Degrees, and Qualifications:

• High School Degree (required)
• Clearances on all required background checks (required)
