The Systems & Network Administrator is responsible for servicing the technology support needs of all schools and buildings within the IMS organization. Duties will include, but are not limited to monitoring and maintaining Technology systems, diagnosing hardware and software and solving technical/application problems both in person or remotely. The Systems & Network Administrator reports to the Senior Manager/Director of Technology.
Duties & Expectations:
- Perform and complete tech support requests and repairs in all IMS buildings as listed in the technology repair schedule.
- Inventory of Technology Department equipment, tools, software and support systems.
- Perform installation and repair of printers, computers, equipment, devices, cables, operating systems and software.
- Work as directed with outside technology providers.
- Assignment of support tickets to Computer Technology Support Specialists.
- Convene periodic Staff and Employee training sessions regarding use of technology, software and equipment.
- Manage and Monitor platforms and systems including but not limited to the following:
- Google G-Mail/Domains/Workspace.
- Microsoft 365/Microsoft Azure/Active Directory.
- Telephone VoIP Control Systems and Associated phone installations.
- Meraki Dashboard, network infrastructure and associated Cisco devices.
- Firewall and Internet Website Security Systems.
- Technology Repair/Support Ticket system.
- Door and Security Camera System.
- Security ID Cards and Associated Systems.
- Maintain records of daily data communication/inventory transactions, problems and remedial actions taken, or installation activities.
- Other tasks as assigned by the Senior Manager/Director of Technology.
Qualifications:
- CompTIA Net+ Certificate.
- CompTIA Security+ Certificate.
- Microsoft/Azure Certification desirable.
- Advanced experience and knowledge with the following Platforms & Systems:
- Chromebooks & Google Domains/Workspace.
- Microsoft 365/Microsoft Azure/Active Directory.
- Telephone VoIP Systems.
- Meraki and Cisco devices.
- Computer, Laptop and Chromebook Repairs.
- Security Door and Camera Systems.
- Network Protocols – DNS, DHCP and TCP/IP.
- Operating System Command Line Tasks and Functions.
- Microsoft Windows 8 through 11.
Requirements:
- 2 years or more of technology support experience.
- History of working in a K-12 educational environment desirable.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional customer-service personality.
- Reliable transportation to transfer up to 25 devices or 100 pounds of total equipment weight.
- Able to lift/move technology equipment not more than 50 pounds alone.
